Glauber “Pro” Contessoto – @THEDOGECOINMILLIONAIRE – is the lead subject of the educational and entertaining documentary film This is Not Financial Advice from @Optimist and co-directors Chris Temple and Zach Ingrasci. We screened the movie at the 2023 MoneyShow/TradersEXPO Orlando – and I had the chance to sit down with Pro from the event to talk about his journey. In the interview, Pro explains how he first got involved with cryptocurrencies – and why he gambled his life savings on Dogecoin, which started out as a joke in the crypto world. He goes on to talk about the rise and fall of the crypto market, the impact of potential Bitcoin ETF approvals, and how investors can navigate the market as “Big Money” gets involved. The conversation shifts to similarities between stocks and crypto, as well as why focusing on a mix of safer coins and riskier plays make sense to him. Plus, Pro talks about how he hopes to continue as an educator in the space – and further the film’s mission of financial market literacy by helping kids learn to invest, avoid pitfalls, and build generational wealth.Join us at our next MoneyShow/TradersExpo February 21-23, 2024 at the Paris Las Vegas. Howard Tullman is General Managing Partner at G2T3V, LLC. The technology sector visionary has invested in and founded dozens of tech companies over the last 50 years. In this interview from the conference floor at the 2023 MoneyShow/TradersEXPO Orlando, he shares several of the lessons he’s learned over his decades as a VC/private tech investor and operator. He also provides insights into current sector conditions and emerging developments of interest to investors.Specifically, Howard shares the five criteria he uses to judge every business plan that comes across his desk. He also explains why investors should “starve your losers early, feed your winners, and be patient.” He commends strategic moves being made by some of the “Magnificent Seven” stocks, including Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple, while critiquing the practices of others such as Meta Platforms and Google. For example, AMZN, MSFT, and AAPL are companies where Artificial Intelligence (AI) “drives and improves” the business and where health tech is playing an increasing role. But META and GOOGL “live off of invading our privacy,” something that governments and parents are increasingly critical of.He then discusses how the job market will be forever changed by technology, why companies with this one specific business model will face significant problems, and how developments like instantaneous translation will increasingly put Star Trek-style tech in the hands of everyday people. Finally, he pivots to a discussion of regulatory risk and how technology can be abused in the wrong hands. If you’re interested in learning more from Howard, join him at the Investment Masters Symposium Sarasota, set for Dec. 4-6, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Jim Bianco is President and Macro Strategist at Bianco Research, LLC. In this wide-ranging interview, the long-time independent researcher explains why he remains a “unique optimist” even though he believes today’s higher rate, higher volatility, and higher inflation environment isn’t going away. Jim believes the post-COVID economic and market backdrop is completely different than the 2009-2020 era, warning that those who say otherwise have their “anchoring all backwards.” He adds that today’s investors would be best served by investing like their predecessors did in the 1980s and 1990s. Back then we had higher rates, but the economy handled them just fine, and the “Peter Lynch Picking Stocks” approach worked well. Jim goes on to discuss opportunities, risks, and trends in the stock, currency, and precious metals markets. He explains why recent challenges “set up a GREAT opportunity” in one asset class that has been hit extremely hard in 2022-2023. He discusses how many old-line industries like manufacturing, transportation, and banking/finance will be disrupted in the coming years – and how investors can capitalize. Plus, he gives a sneak peek at what he’ll discuss at the Investment Masters Symposium Sarasota, set for Dec. 4-6, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Phil Flynn is Senior Energy Analyst for the PRICE Futures Group and Fox Business Network. In this interview, he explains why global oil supplies are “tighter than they’ve been probably in my lifetime” and how “there’s a huge risk that if things go wrong in the Middle East, [energy prices] could go a LOT higher.” Specifically, Phil says the big risk in the wake of the attack on Israel is that the conflict broadens out to include Iran – and that consuming countries respond by slapping an embargo on Iranian oil supplies. While Phil believes the US has a “shield” in the form of greater domestic energy production than in the past, that shield could be “a lot bigger or better or stronger” if it weren’t for steps the Biden Administration has taken that have hampered output. The conversation then shifts to Saudi Arabian output cuts...misconceptions about Chinese energy demand...the myriad reasons why the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) will take a long time...and why “fossil fuels are here to stay.” Finally, Phil shares a couple of his favorite investment picks in the energy sector – and gives a sneak peek at what he’ll discuss at the Investment Masters Symposium Sarasota, set for Dec. 4-6, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Mark Mobius is Co-Founder of Mobius Capital Partners, as well as one of the fund management industry’s most respected, long-tenured experts on global investing. In this wide-ranging interview, Mark takes viewers on a worldwide tour of the best – and worst – countries and sectors to invest in for 2023-2024. He acknowledges the many geopolitical threats out there at this time, including the renewed conflict in the Middle East, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, and tensions between China and Taiwan. But he also notes the many profit opportunities still available for investors willing to do the legwork and research to find them.In particular, Mark likes the software and semiconductor subsectors of the technology industry. He also sees opportunity in manufacturing. On the flip side, he expresses hesitation at investing in the banking sector due to transparency issues. As for countries, Mark is very bullish on India…likes select firms in Taiwan…and continues to find opportunities in nations like South Africa and Brazil. You can also hear Mark sound off on Federal Reserve policy, the outlook for the U.S. dollar, investing in assets like gold and cryptocurrencies, and much more as well as the many other sessions from this event with a MoneyShow virtual pass: https://www.moneyshow.com/virtual-pass/eacr1023/?scode=061246

Lindsey Piegza is Chief Economist and Managing Director at Stifel Financial. In this interview, we explore several key economic and policy topics on the minds of investors, with Lindsey summarizing the outlook by saying: “The U.S. labor market is still very tight. Inflation is still too high. And the Fed therefore still has more work to be done.” We next discuss the recent rash of strikes and walkouts, the pace of progress on pricing pressure, and how “Chair Powell has been very clear that orange is not the new black. 3% is not the new 2” when it comes to his inflation target. The discussion then shifts to fiscal policy, federal government debt, and why markets appear to be pricing in more risk of long-term balance sheet deterioration (even if a full-on “debt trap” is not the likeliest scenario). We also touch upon the recent Middle East conflict and how it could exacerbate energy supply and pricing concerns. Finally, Lindsey gives a sneak peek at what she’ll discuss at the MoneyShow/TradersEXPO Orlando, set for Oct. 29-31, 2023 at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. Plus, he explains how his “Options Wheel” approach works by combining put option selling, buying underlying value stocks at a discount, and then selling covered calls against them.Later, Markus shares his views on the challenges facing investors in this current environment – from rising interest rates to increased stock market volatility. But he explains why higher vol can be a trader’s best friend...AND why we’re set up for a nice year-end rally.
